On March 28, 2012, I finished sorting the sticks harvested May - July 2011. There were a lot of Scout Sticks but only 633 Diamond Willow sticks, and of those 633 ONLY THREE made it to the "Best of the Best" for the next auction. Guess I got too fussy.
1. There is a minimum starting bid of US$35. per stick.
2. Bids are to be in increments of $5, so you cannot bid, for example, $38.
3. You can NOT withdraw a bid; if you do, all your bidding will be removed.
4. No bids such as "I'll bid $20 more than your highest other bid" (tried that but it was considered unfair).
5. I'll ignore any bids which come in for amounts equal to or lower than a bid already received.
6. In your first bid, please provide your complete snail-mail address even if I already have it. ALSO, TELL ME that you
HAVE READ THESE RULES.
7. I will mail the sticks to winning bidders as soon as the payment arrives.
8. NOTE: I CANNOT SEND OUT ORDERS OF LESS THAN 5 STICKS. SEE MY
"ORDER" PAGE FOR THE REASONS; THEY ARE BEYOND MY
CONTROL. If you wind up winning fewer than 5 in this auction, it will be necessary to add one or more
"regular" (@C$20) sticks to make up 5 sticks minimum. I'll email you a picture of some to choose from.
9. Payment can be by Paypal or by postal money order. If you are in the USA, and want to use the postal
money order, please be sure to use the INTERNATIONAL version, not the "Domestic" one, payable to me: Ken Laninga.
When you view this page, you might want to be sure your 'puter does not grab an old copy of this page from your cache; you can do that by holding down the "ALT" key and clicking Refresh.
POSTAGE COST: the cost of postage / insurance depends, of course, on destination, weight and measurements.
Just to give you a VERY ROUGH idea, here are data from some Dec. 2011 shipments:
- to New Jersey, 8 sticks: C$53.
- to California, 5 Sticks: C$33.
- to Nevada, 5 sticks: C$34.
- to Mississippi, 5 sticks: C$37.
(Our dollars are just about at par; these auction sticks are, on average, thicker and longer than the usual "Regular" sticks.)
Keep in mind, please, that you are MOST WELCOME to visit and "pick & choose" from my inventory of several hundred "Regular" sticks. Plenty of good folks have done just that.
In my "Regular" sticks there are, no doubt, some sticks which would qualify as "SUPER" sticks so if you want to come and pick out your sticks, you will be very pleased.
I'll show you FRONT and BACK of every stick below.
