To go back to Page 1 of my Home Page, click this link: http://www.sticksite.com/ where you will find all the details of my Diamond Willow sticks; finished and unfinished and a whole lot more.

I saw this on the Discovery Channel and HAD to try it for myself. Sure glad I did! This is one you really WILL ENJOY. See a video of it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l66rdJjKL_Y.

At my cabin the beavers caused a problem by flooding land which I wanted to farm. So, we chased them out of there and now they are making a terrible mess in the bush. They are dropping big trees any old place with little apparent rhyme or reason. Click the pic to see the rest of the story.

Bet you never knew that you can MAKE and EAT "Beaver Tails" did you!? Well, you can, they are VERY nice and here are ALL the details.

.jpg)
On my travels in the bush up here in northern Canada, sometimes I am lucky enough to find antlers shed by deer, moose or elk. I'm selling them and here you can see all the details.

This is a really cool item; make "Wanted" posters of/for your friends and relatives. You can download FREE software to make them.

A few tips for those thinking about setting up a home business as I have done very successfully.

All my favorite links; some really good sites there; check it out! Lots of links to free MUSIC (Midi) sites.

BAD DEBTS........ don't you just HATE them? I have one too; click HERE for details.

TAX TIPS: For Canucks, a.k.a. Canadians. If you study these tips, you are almost guaranteed to reduce your income taxes. Study this together with the next one:
R.R.S.P. Tips
RRSP, a.k.a. "Registered
Retirement Savings Plans" for Canadians; all the things you must know about them, and many, many
people, I have found, do not. Knowing these tips will save you $$$$.

I've been making websites for several years now, and have learned a few things. These tips are sure to be of some use to you if you are just starting out. SEE THE NEWS FLASH on this page!

FREE Webspace
There is
lots of free space available to put/host your website. Some are good, some not. Check out my study and
pick one that you like. Remember, though, the free ones come and go; you can never be sure that they
will be there tomorrow; I've had them disappear with my website, overnite. KEEP a backup! PLUS.......
your visitors will probably be swamped with popup and pop-under ads and maybe cookies as well.

A few of my mushroom pictures here.

Yes, I am a geek. I confess. An old geek; a Senior Citizen. BUT as you no doubt suspect, I am also an outdoors enthusiast. If you are also, then you owe it to yourself to get these fantastic TRUE stories by pioneers which I read and enjoyed VERY much. They would make a wonderful gift for any outdoors-type person. See my "Book" page for more at http://www.sticksite.com/books/index.html.

This is SERIOUS business. May my bad experience be a valuable lesson for you! The surgeon took this picture of me while he was carving me up. No, I was not asleep; wide awake.

About me; not much to tell; I'm a "flatulus antiquatus" (a.k.a. "old
fart" or "Senior Citizen") Two kids, five grandkids. You may have seen me on TV, untangling the moose
from the fence and/or catching some huge HUGE northern pike.
Used to love hunting; now prefer to
use a camera. Ran a tax-prep service from home for years; then I got into this Diamond Willow Sticks
stuff and so I retired. Tax work interfered with my hobby of stick harvesting and like the Frenchman
said, "When your drinking starts to interfere with your driving, it is time to sell the car."
I'm a very firm believer in the Christian faith and HERE is why.

3D Pictures:Here is YOUR chance to make your own stereoscopic pictures and a viewer. This is great for "Kids" of all ages, from 6 - 96. A digital camera helps but is not needed; you can use a scanner instead. Full details here.

IF YOU would care to LINK to my pages, please (PLEASE!) do so; grab a button or bar or the html off this page......please. AND THANKS!

THOUGHTS for Happy Living is FOR YOU if you need some encouragement or know of someone who does. Some really great stuff here; I would like to tell you that I personally authored all of them; I'd *like* to tell you that, but I'm just not that big a liar!

This one is also for the wee ones, folks! Check it out; my first (last and only?) attempt at writing a children's story; let me know if they like it, please? NO, we don't have elephants up here in northern Canada; we have some pretty BIG game though.

For all those who have discovered the fascinating world of GPS......... Global Positioning System. This really blows me away; the technology is incredible! Learn about GeoCaching too.. lots of links too. Above all, note the incredible FREEWARE to go with almost any GPS brand, so you can print out your hikes, tracks, waypoints etc. If you don't (yet) have a GPS, check it out and see what you are missing.

This one is not for those who don't have a strong stomach. There is a good reason for this website but the pictures are NOT pretty to look at............! Be warned.

If you happen to find one of these unfortunate road-kills, you might want to mount the head if that is legal in your area. If it is, then you will find these instructions very helpful.

Smoking; I think it is a dumb thing to do. On the other hand, if; you mean smoking MEAT or FISH, that's different. I made a smoker out of scrap around the cabin. So, if that road-kill is in decent condition, maybe you can smoke the meat. This is an old one; a new one has taken its place. Click the pic.

POSTERS: This is my own 50-year collection of favorite posters, sayings, quotations, texts etc etc.

E-MAILTIPS: If you have been using email for a long time, this is for YOU also because you probably have seen a lot of email from beginners who desperately need some good advice. THIS IS NOT a link to email me!

I took a cruise in August 2001; details at this page. In 2008, I took another cruise; this one to Hawaii; click HERE for that one.

My computer has been acting up; tells me some weird stuff; been keeping the error messages; here they are.

I hooked up with a hiking club; pictures and details here.

Make yourself a very nice-looking, very comfortable willow chair. I
have them in my house all the time. This page was featured in the Cottage Magazine. You can make one by
following my detailed instructions.

Digital Photography: I'm no expert but I sure do enjoy using my digital cameras and friends and relatives have been giving me some good advice which I'm passing along to you on this page. This one is my Canon S5 IS, 8 Megapixels. It is very good for shooting wildlife because the shutter is totally SILENT. I found that a DSLR digital camera did not work for me; because the shutter makes so much noise it frightens the deer.

Ah, who does not enjoy that?! Two of my trips are:
Williston Lake, British Columbia
Northwest Territories, Fort Providence, on the McKenzie River. (on this one, toggle F11 on your keyboard to see more of the Picture Gallery!) Click on the Thumbnails to enlarge in the middle. IF the page does not load, hold down the Ctrl key; it uses 'popup technology' for the pictures. My set of two DVDs show a bit of the HUGE pike I caught. Click HERE.

If you are thinking of getting into VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) or "Chat" or if your kids
are into that, maybe it would be worth while to take a look at these comments and links.
Some
very funny comments there too.

IF YOU want to be able to make nice 3D fonts like this, with or without animation, click this banner:

Droodles: What is it?
A "Droodle."When I was a kid in high-school, way back in the dark ages, before TV, our grade made a
booklet full of "droodles" and sold them to raise money for something. Unfortunately, I can remember
only a few of them and they are on this site. If you can add any, I'd like to hear from you. Now: WHAT
IS THIS? You'll have to go to the Droodles page to find out.

Just *had* to share these funny cartoons with you!

This is for the wee ones, folks! Making various styles of little houses out of stiff paper. Several different house designs; patterns provided; just download, print, cut and glue; with other suggestions and ideas to help make it even more fun.

See all my favorite photos taken with the Sony Mavica FD7, FD97, Panny DMC FZ-20, Canon S5 IS and the Kodak Easyshare digital cameras.

More of my favorite photos. I hope you enjoy at least one or two of them.

landscape scenes I made for you; you can click on them and make them your "desktop" or download and use them any way you like.

This incredible tool just gets better and better and is only 1/10 the cost of PhotoShop. I'm just getting started with it. I really wanted to be able to use and make "Picture Tubes" and also learn how to add a "Soft-Drop Shadow" on pictures; these are my notes so far. More coming as I learn. You can do amazing stuff with Paintshop Pro; recently I got version X3. NOTE: even if you do not have/use Paintshop, check out this page; you might be amazed at some of the neat/fun things you can do with Paintshop, and it is NOT expensive. The "one click fix" for photos alone is well-worth the price and I've seen it at C$50.

You know how you never seem to have time for cooking your meals? Well, this might help; it sure helped me.

In 2005, I took a trip through western Canada and made a slideshow of 45 of the pictures I took.

Do you use Outlook Express for your e-mailing? If so, what
happens if your 'puter dies and you lose all your addresses and all those very important messages that
you cannot afford to lose?
This is a concern to a lot of folks and my notes here make backing it
all up VERY simple.

This is a book my Dad bought in England in the 1930s. As a young man, I enjoyed
this book so much that I thought I'd share it with you, so I scanned the whole book. JUST FOR YOU!
Took a long time but here it is; enjoy!
"The Golden Passports." You won't believe what I used
in the scanning process:
OLD and NEW technology: this is rather interesting, imho, at least. While scanning that book I needed a weight to hold the book down flat on the scanner. The only thing that was handy was an item from the VERY OLD technology; click HERE to see it.

IF YOU NEED a good, low-cost web host to serve your websites, try the one I found some years ago. My son has been very happy with them so I moved to them too. I've gotten quite unhappy with HalfPriceHosting and they tried to rip me off so I had to move. In the process I got a LOT more space and other benefits, and am paying a LOT LESS. Take a look; you'll be glad you did. Incidentally, in the PC World magazine, they have been running some huge, colorful, 5-page ads. If their bar/link does not show here, due to settings in your browser, use this link: http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=9854692.

HOME INVENTORY: This one I just have to tell you about. HOME INVENTORY; read all the details here. If you are using this tool, I'd love to discuss it with you. No, I'm not connected with the owner in any way shape nor form and get no royalties from sales. I JUST LOVE this tool and think EVERYBODY should use it. You just never know when you might need the information in case of fire or theft. Plus, this program can tell you: Maybe you are *already* a millionnaire!

Many years ago I read a fantastic book about $$ and decided I was able to write one just as good and went to work on it. Plan was to get it printed and then sell it. THEN the Internet came along and I decided to GIVE IT AWAY for FREE. Here it is for you.

It may surprise you to learn this but it is true. Up here in northern Canada, we actually have SNOW. Here are a few of my favorite shots of it.

This is my collection of old pictures of the town/city where I grew up; Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

THIS one you have to try; it will blow your socks off! Truly amazing.

This is a fun thing for young and old alike. All kinds of ways you can make one of these flying toys; lots of experimentation suggested. Here are some of mine. I call them my "Flying Cylinders" and all you need is some junk found around every home. Enjoy!

My experiences with laptop computers over the past several years and a warning to you.

At my cabin we enjoy all kinds of wild birds; this page is for the ones I've been able to shoot.

You know how you sometimes run across a neat tip that you really want to share with a lot of other people? Well, here are some of mine.

Feel like wasting an hour? This is a "new ART" thingy that interested me so I gave it a shot. No idea why.

Do you have an excess of apples every summer? I do. Here is what I'm doing about it.

If you have your eye on one of those super, big, HD flatscreen televisions, it might be worth your while to see this page first. I wish I'd known earlier what I know today about that.
