Sausage Jambalaya

1/2 pound sausages, cut in pieces
7 1/2 oz can tomato sauce with onions
green pepper and celery
1 cup water
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1/4 tsp chili powder
dash cayenne pepper and thyme
salt to taste

Brown the sausage, drain off the fat, add all other ingredients. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, covered until rice is tender. Add water if necessary.
