Hey, is this a nice head, or what!? Two reasons. One: the cape was removed properly and two: top-notch headmount-idermist.
I'll bet taxidermists cry when they see the mess we sometimes bring in to them. And I suspect I have made my headmount-idermist cry too.
The purpose of this page is very simple:
SHOW YOU HOW TO PROPERLY REMOVE THE CAPE FROM A DEER SO YOUR headmount-IDERMIST WILL BE ABLE TO DO HIS BEST QUALITY WORK FOR YOU.
This Whitetail was taken by myself and mounted by the famous headmount-idermist in Calgary, Alberta: KELLY KENT.
In November 2001, I shot a small buck while Kelly was here and he graciously offered to remove the cape and let me take a LOT of pictures of that process to help YOU. I was at my cabin where I hunt the woods for Diamond Willow sticks which I sell worldwide.
Of course this can be just as applicable to heads of moose, elk, caribou and other such animals.
Now, let Kelly show you how a taxidermist would want YOU to carefully remove the cape from your deer etc.
These pictures have been cropped and shrunk and the quality has been reduced so that you would not have to wait until Christmas for this page to load; the originals are 1600x1200 pixels and about 800K each and FAR better quality! If you really need the originals (all 56) you'll need to Email me. I appreciate hearing from you!I'll ask you for $10 for the CD and mailing. Thanks.
