Here is the original, bad photo, taken through two panes of dirty glass:
For my "Birds" page at http://www.sticksite.com/birds/ I really needed a decent picture of a Cooper's Hawk, so had to fix it.
Don Pratt gave me instructions and I followed them best I could to match his result. Here are the steps that gave me the resulting photo that I can live with:
1. Adjust | Brightness and Contrast | Levels:
And click "OK."
2. Adjust | Sharpness | High Pass Sharpen:
And click "OK."
3. Adjust | Brightness and Contrast | Curves:
And click "OK."
4. Crop to suit and resize to suit; this left me with this for my birds page
