This is rather interesting, imho, at least. I was scanning a book and needed a weight to hold the book down flat on the scanner. The only thing that was handy was an item from the VERY OLD technology:
A Stone-Age Axe and here I am using it:

The book is called "The Golden Passports" written about 1930 or so; Not quite as old as the stone axe. You can download the whole book from my website; click HERE for it.
The stone axe is one I found on my land; it is 8 inches x 4 inches. I have found several such tools.
Wouldn't it be great if I could have a chat with the man who made it maybe 10,000 or 100,000 years ago. Not likely would he have been able to dream of how HIS tool would some day be used.
Over the years I have recovered a number of these ancient artifacts. My brother, a rancher, has found a good number of arrowheads and such. You can see part of his collection on my "Cottage Tips" page at http://www.sticksite.com/cottage/index.html.
